What Can Light Up Your Path, Record Your Surroundings and Speak?

If it seems as if we are living in a world where everything is interchangeable that’s because we are.  Everything nowadays masquerades as something else.  Cellular phones have gotten to the point that they can run your entire life.  Consider the fact that from the palm of your hand you can organize your life, make payments, play video games, take photos, make videos, communicate on numerous social media platforms, watch movies, oh and yes! Make a phone call.

You will be hard pressed to find an electrical device that doesn’t do more than one thing in thuis day and age.  That’s why it’s no surprise that the home automation industry is also following suit in this practice.  New home automation devices are hitting store shelves every day.  With competition become ever increasingly companies have started to integrate their systems.

A perfect example is the new product brought out by KUNA.  KUNA has brought to the market a home monitoring camera/intercom/outdoor light fixture.  Pretty nifty design if you ask me.  Not only is the product effective but it is also aesthetically pleasing lending itself to any outdoor patio.
As we all know outdoor lights and home security is not a new idea, nor is outdoor lights.  There are some outdoor lighting/surveillance systems on the market but these come up short when compared to the KUNA.  Most of these devices record to a removable memory card making them useless for up to date minute by minute coverage.

KUNAS’s product records to a live streaming video making it accessible to you at a moment’s time.  KUNA’s built in intercom also allows you to leave prerecorded messages to would be intruders making them think twice of breaking in.  You can also have prerecorded messages for the mail man and unwanted door to door salespeople.

It is exciting to see all these new changes in the Home Automation industry.  Like most technology these days the Home Automation Industry is fast growing and it may be difficult to keep up.  That’s why we recommend the help of integrators and dealers such as Cyber Technologies.  With over a decade of experience Cyber Technologies can help you with all your home automation and system integration needs.  For more information on the following services contact Cyber Technologies today.

Home Invasion on the Rise Due to Unprotected Garage Doors

Because of its size and weight most people tend to envision their garage door as impenetrable.  This is true to a certain degree. A properly installed and properly maintained garage door can provide the needed extra security your family deserves.  Unfortunately the majority of people do not take the precautions needed to ensure that their garage door functions properly.

lagrange garage doors

As of late it seems that a rash of robberies has taken place in Fullerton, California. Police believe that a man in Fullerton has been going around targeting residents with open garage doors.  The suspect is believed to have committed six robberies in the area in as many weeks.  Police were called Tuesday night on august 19th at around 9PM to a robbery taking place in the 1200 block of Crestview Drive where a resident was injured.

The 17 year old who did not want to be identified was interviewed by NBC4.  Sporting a bandage on his forehead the young man claims to have pushed and shoved to the ground by the assailant.  The assailant was apparently after money shouting at the boy “I don’t care where it is, give me my money”.  According to the young man the assailant was brandishing a firearm which the he cocked back the hammer on before putting it to the back of the young man’s head.

In another case a man entered a couple’s home through their partially open garage door on the 1500 block of Avenida Selva.  This case was also very similar to the first.  The assailant appeared to come in through an open garage door brandishing a hand gun and demanding money.

All in all three crimes were committed in the last week.  All which could have been prevented if there was more emphasis on garage door safety.  Remember to always keep unattended garage doors locked.  Criminals can easily slip in while you are occupied.  It is also important to deal with professional and experienced garage door installers and sellers.  Hudson Valley Overhead Doors and Operators have helped thousands of clients throughout the years.  For more information how they can keep you safe with their heavy duty garage doors contact Them Today.  Hudson Valley Overhead Doors and operators provide the following services:

Motorola's Moto 360 Smart Watch Turning Heads

The Moto 360 is finally here!  Well, not exactly. This nifty new gadget will be in the hands of consumers very soon.  Motorola is set to unveil its new product the MOTO 360 at a press event in Chicago on September 4th.  This is just one of the newest smart watches on the market.  Unlike other competitors this product is sure making big waves in the market.

It seems as if Best Buy may have mistakenly made a product page for the android wear smart watch live, leaking the price tag of the watch.    Apparently the price tag on this new device is $249.99, making it a shy more expensive than other smart watches on the market.  Consumers don’t seem to mind though considering all the usage you can get from this beautiful watch. This is not the first time consumers have heard the price tag of $249.99, but it is the first time we can be confident that the MOTO 360 will in fact be only a few more dollars than what is currently on the market.

Along with the price tag the page seems to have contained some other information as well.  The page totes some preliminary specifications.  The LCD touch screen is said to come in at a resolution of 320x290.  The display is protected by the newest in Gorilla Glass.  What is Gorilla glass you ask?  Gorilla Glass is, well, Glass! You can find Gorilla Glass in over 2.7 Billion devices. That’s right! BILLIONS! What makes it so unique is the way it is made.  Gorilla Glass is not only chemically strengthened, its atomic configuration is also formulated so that the glass is more durable.  Considering the MOTO 360 will be on your wrist all day using a heavy duty glass is just logical.

We know quite a lot about the exterior of the Moto 360 but not much about the interior specs.  We can assume though that the Moto 360 will be able to connect to the internet making it capable of running devices via WIFI.  With home automation becoming more and more popular, wireless devices will become more and more important.  With a WIFI device you can run multiple devices such as your home security and home entertainment system.

Is BMW Giving Tesla Motors A run For Their Money?

Although good for the environment Electric cars have always had a stigma associated with them.  Always seen as inferior because of their speed and the amount of distance they can cover Electric cars are just starting to make its way into the limelight.

With Tesla finally making a profit a few years back we are starting to see a shift in the way people deem electric cars.  Tesla has added much to the field in the sense of performance and aesthetics.  If you ask 100 people on the street if they would drive Teslas Model S sedan you would probably get a resounding yes from all of them.  After all, the Model S sedan is seen by many as one of the best vehicles you can buy, and that’s not just amongst electric car.  That’s saying a lot considering the amount of cars that are produced year in and year out.

Tesla has of late been getting so much attention that it has gotten the attention of bigger more well known companies like General electric and BMW.  BMW has rolled out with the BMW i3 which goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.  Its top speed is 150 km/hr not bad when compared to other products on the market.  The price tag is also very impressive , it starts off at 41,350 dollars.  That’s a good 28,000 dollars extra in your pocket when compared to the Model S by Tesla.

BMW has also hit the American market with its new fast electric car charge stations.  Unlike other direct current fast chargers who are massive, power hungry and expensive BMWs chargers are small and light enough to be wall mounted.  But this little guy packs a huge punch being able to give a BMW i3 an 80 percent charge within 30 minutes.

With all these new cool gadgets making their way into our homes we need to look at safety.  Your first line of defense is a Garage door when considering the protection of your brand new car.  Hudson Valley Overhead Doors and Operators has a great line of equipment and services at you need.  For more information contact Hudson Valley today for their following services:

Military Exercise to Interfere with Garage Door Openers

The last thing someone would expect to interfere with their garage door is the Navy.  Apparently this is what is going on in Hawaii where Rimpac is taking place.  Rimpac stands for Rim of the pacific exercise.  It is a training drill which takes place every year or so.  The training exercise is one of the biggest events taking around 5 weeks and including as many as 2 dozen countries.

Middletown Garage Doors

Rimpac which started last Thursday and will last a few weeks are linked to the disruption that residence have encountered with their garage doors.  Officials have warned that remotely operated garage door openers may not work due to the radio frequency which are used.  Although not as big of a problem as past years people may still encounter some problems.  The fact that the radio frequencies used by the Navy are top secret makes it difficult for garage door manufacturers to build a remote control that does not interfere with the Navy’s frequency.

Homeowners have been encouraged to check with their garage door company to ensure that their garage door openers work properly.  If problems are encountered it is recommended that passengers get out of their car and use their remote control directly in front of the garage door.  People will not encounter problems from within their homes just from outside.  It has been recommended that people have another access point available in case they encounter these issues.

Although this might be a nuisance to some this does not seem to be a common occurrence.  When purchasing an over head garage door always remember to use a qualified and experienced dealer.  Hudson Valley Over Head Doors and operators guarantee a job well done.  With years of experience Hudson Valley Over head Doors offers the following services:

Internet of Things Making Big Moves

Want to know the next big breakthrough in technology?  No it’s not cloned armies, AI robotics or even space tourism as many would have you believe.  Nowadays it is all about connectivity.  The whole reason the internet blew up the way it did is because of its ability to connect a vast amount of people through its networks.  Decades later and we are still seeing that integration is the way to go.

internet of things

I’m speaking about the Internet of things and its ability to affect countless fields.  We are talking software developer, hardware developers, home usage, office usage even major factory usage.  There is a movement going on which is trying to lead us down the path in which all our systems are interconnected.  All this talk is grabbing the attention of people with deep pockets.  In 2013 alone Internet of Things companies attracted more than one billion dollars in venture capital.  According to the New York-based venture capital firm that’s an increase of 11 percent from the previous year.

The big fish in the pond as usual is Google.  Google made quite the entrance into the IoT world by snatching up the company named Nest Labs.  Nest Labs, a Silicon Valley start up company was bought by Google for…. Hear this! 3.2 billion dollars.  Now if that doesn’t say dedication to the Internet of Things I don’t know what does.  The idea is for one day to be able to run everything from your wearable device.  Google envisions a world where one day you will be “driving”(more like riding) their autonomous cars, wearing their Google smart watches and their Smart glasses and managing your home entertainment and home energy systems.  Sounds like progress to me.  The assumption is that these new devices and networks will create new jobs and bring more ease to our daily lives.

Despite all the recent talks about IoT and the deals struck by major companies to acquire companies that are developing software and hardware for such a system to progress certain questions remain.  The economist points to the fact that estimates on the rise of internet connected devices vary widely.  Gartner firm estimates 26 billions will be online by 2020, while ABI research puts that number at 30 billion.  Industry leader Cisco estimates the number even higher, coming in at 50 billion devices.  Now you might be saying that the Internet of Things is overblown but the reality is this ideas time has come.  For the last few decades our infrastructures have been changing in order to accommodate such a change.

We still have some major hurdles to jump before perfecting this idea.  Challenges that need to be addressed are the effectiveness of communications between devices.  Security is also of a major concern.  With so much information whizzing by us through the use of Wifi a strong implementation of security needs to be set.  The billions of people that will be using these devices need to be ensured that sensitive information is not being hacked into.

Huge international companies are making great strides in this field along with local and national businesses.  Cyber Technology have become experts in their integration systems.  They have applied these skills to their Closed Circuit NYClosed CircuitCT, Home Security Systems CT, Home Theater Systems CT, Home security systems NY, Home Theater Systems NY and New York Security Alarms services.  For more information on their products contact Cyber Technologies Inc. New York Fire Alarm Systems helping Protect Against California Wildfires

With wildfire season just starting we have already seen a substantial amount of property damage.  Private property damages are estimated to go through the roof this year and in the following years due to a drastic change in our climate.  Experts are contributing this new problem with global warming.  Southern California has seen a lowering of precipitation the last five years.  Dry spells and the Santa Ana winds have been big contributors to the wildfires we have seen spark up as of late.  With all these changes it is recommended that an early fire detection system be used such as cyber technologies New York Fire Alarm Systems and NewYork City Fire Alarm Systems services.

With conditions worsening we have seen these wildfires that typically occur in southern California move its way up north.  Bakersfield California is at the moment battling a huge wildfire which is endangering 500 homes.  Federal fire officials have accelerated their attack as of Sunday in order to combat the smoky wildfire.  The wildfire has been reported as being a fast moving blaze.  The hopes is to control the flames before hotter, drier weather sets in.  Throughout the night sheriff deputies walked the streets with bullhorns and knocked on residents doors urging them to evacuate the area 30 miles northeast of Bakersfield.  The fire had been reported as doubling in size overnight.   An estimated area of 3.1 square miles has been reported as being destroyed by the wildfire.  Unfortunately the blaze which was 10 percent contained had been reinforced Sunday afternoon by 17 to 20 miles per hour wind gusts.  At its worst 1,100 firefighters were sent to battle the blaze that took place in steep, rugged terrain.  They have been aided by retardant-dropping air tankers and water-dropping helicopters.  Forest Service Spokeswoman Jennifer Chapman was reported as saying “ Our current outlook for the forcast is such that we are really ramping up suppression operation over the next couple of days because it’s going to be even hotter and dryer at the end of the week”.  With all the wildfires in the area it is suprising that the Forest Service has announced that camping, horseback riding, rafting and other activities in the Sequoia district have been unaffected by the blaze.

This goes to show you that early detection is very important.  Many lives and properties have been saved due to companies like cyber technologies and their NewYork City Fire Alarm Systems and New York Fire Alarm Systems services. For more information contact Cyber Technologies today.

2014 World Cup to Introduce High Tech Gear

In the recent decades camera technology has been used in various fields with different results.  Some of these technologies have been used against us as an intrusion of privacy while others have been implemented for our own safety.  Take for example Cyber Technologies and their NewYork Security Alarms and New York Alarm Systems services. Cyber Technology has been protecting homes for well over a decade.

Besides the obvious use of surveillance cameras we have started to see them find their way into sports.  With the 2014 World Cup around the corner a new argument is taking place, whether or not cameras should be used to detect if a soccer ball has actually crossed the goal line. The bottom line is FIFA has already made up its mind on this issue, but it seems fans and officials are about 50/50 when it comes to trusting the outcome of a sporting event that some fans cling to feverishly.  After all we are speaking about an event that comes around every 4 years and holds in its balance the communital glee or grief of a country.

The new system being introduced by Germanys Goalcontrol has been at it for quite some time, giving FIFA the guarantee it needed to continue with the project of relying on technology rather than officials to dictate the game.  Goalcontrol went through a probation period in which it successfully detected 68 goals scored during the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil 2013.  FIFA had 4 companies in mind but in the end went with Goalcontrol because of its ability to meet the requirements put forward by FIFA.  When compared with the competition GoalControl's technology won out because of its flexibility and functionality with any goal -- it can detect any type of ball, and no modifications have to be made to the pitch.  Goalcontrol is also able to detect a balls movement to within at least 5 millimeters.  The company will be able to achieve this feat during the 2014 World Cup by using 14 cameras --  7 aimed at each goal – to measure with absolute precision if the ball in fact crossed the goal or not.
For reason of interference FIFA decided that the best option would be for only the referees to receive a notification if the ball passed the goal line.  This means that the technology needs to be able to make a decision and then transmit a wireless signal to the refs (without interference from countless wireless devices) within one second of the play.  Although a difficult task, Goalcontrol has passed all its test with flying colors.  Only time will tell if this is the way to go when it comes to sport events and cameras.
One thing is for certain, cameras have made our lives a lot better by giving us security and peace of mind.  Cyber Technologies has always been in the front of the game when dealing with home surveillance and alarm systems.  For more on their New York Security Alarms and New York Alarm Systems services feel free to contact Cyber Technologies today.  Cyber Technologies also services the tri-state area with their Westchester Alarm Systems, Fairfield Security alarms and New York City Security Alarms services.

Staten Island’s 5-Alarm Blaze Injures 34

A vicious 5 alarm fire tore through three townhouses on Chestnut Avenue in Staten Island, New York early this morning causing serious damage.  The fire was said to start just a bit after midnight. 200 firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the fire to combat the blaze.   The key to surviving these types of fires is an early response system.  What most people don’t know is that smoke tends to overcome the victim making escape near to impossible.  Cyber Technologies and their New York Fire Alarm Systems and New York City Fire Alarm Systems have helped even the playing field by giving people enough time to hatch out an escape plan.

The story about the Staten Island blaze is a sad one but luckily not a tragic one.  Yes, properties, life long memories were lost but no loss of life has been reported at this moment.  The injuries are ranging from serious to minor.  The official report stemming out of Rosebank, New York are 34 injured.  23 firefighters and 11 civilians are being treated for smoke inhalation.  Of the 11 civilian 2 were children age 5 and 3.

Their story is remarkable.  After being woken by smoke the father of the two children tossed them out from a second floor apartment window into the arms of a neighboring couple.  “The father was stuck up there .. he couldn’t do anything, black smoke was just billowing out that window”, Anthony DiSimone, who caught one kid told the New York Daily News Paper. “So I went underneath, he threw him right to me and I caught his son.”  Although a bit shaken the children were said to have been treated on the scene by emergency personnel.  Firefighter were eventually able to save the father as well.

Authorities kept increasing resources throughout the night.  At 1:15 the blaze was categorized as a second-alarm, by 1:17 it jumped to a third-alarm, by 3:42 in the morning it had reached its peak as a five-alarm fire. By 6:30 in the morning the fire seemed to be under control. Investigations are ongoing to see where and how the fire started.

Luckily this story had a happy ending.  Possessions can be replaced but a life can’t.  If anything this story has taught us that early detection is the key.  Chances are those neighbors who were alerted by the fire were woken up by some sort of alarm system allowing them to start knocking on peoples doors. For more information and a consultant contact Cyber Technologies and their New York FireAlarm Systems and New York City Fire Alarm Systems services today.

Tesla Paving the Road for the Future

Eco-friendly is all the rage nowadays.  With the world becoming as polluted as it is this is a step in the right direction.  When asked are you eco-friendly? The majority of folks will say yes.  That is until eco-friendly disrupts their daily lives.  Most people are unwilling to turn the AC off for an hour a day in order to save the planet let alone cut back on their car emissions.  In the past decade with global warming becoming more of a mainstream belief we have seen major car companies shell out money in the hopes of developing more efficient vehicles whose footprint on this earth are less damaging.

Ford most notably known for its gas guzzlers has come out with the 2014 Ford Focus Electric Car.  Unlike other ford focus which are fuel efficient, this model is powered exclusively by lithium-ion batteries.  The 2014 Ford Focus Electric has an EPA-estimated rating of 110 city MPGe.  MPGe is the EPA equivalent measure of gasoline fuel efficiency for electric vehicles.  So your basically looking at 76 miles per each charge.  With seat fabric that is made with 100 percent recycled materials and cushions made of bio-based foam which derives from plant seed oils even the interior is eco-friendly.

Unlike Ford, Tesla has always been behind the eco-friendly movement.   Founded in 2003 Tesla Motors didn’t post profits until the year 2013.  With this new movement Tesla is continuously seeing growth in its profits. Tesla Motors first gained widespread attention by Producing the Tesla Roadster.  The Tesla Roadster was the first fully electric sports car.  Sporting an AC induction motor and single speed gear box the Tesla Roadster can go from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds.  Not bad for a car that is powered exclusively by Lithium-ion batteries.  The power source has 6,831 individual cells which take 3 and a half hours to charge from empty to full using the Tesla high power wall connector.  Customers have gone on to state that they are seeing a significance savings.  A person can charge their car to go 100 miles anywhere between 2-4 dollars.  Try going 100 miles on 2-4 dollars worth of gas and see how far that gets you.

These have been great innovations in the automobile world.  With great toys though come great concerns.  With the price of Tesla Roadster hovering in the 50-60 thousand mark and specialized charging stations that hover aroun3 grand it would be wise to have proper protection against break-ins.  What better way than a safe Garage door.  Hudson valley Overhead doors  and their  LaGrange Garage Doors will provide you with the needed security.  Contact them today.

Apple Inc. to Enter Home Automation Market

Not to be outdone by Microsoft and its BUILD Developer Conference, Apple is gearing up for its own event for iOS and Mac OS X software creators.  The event which is being held in San Francisco between June 2 and 6 is creating quite the buzz.   People are speculating as to what exactly Apple has up its sleeve this time.

Word has it that Apple taking a page out of Cyber Technologies book for New York City Home Automation and Westchester HomeAutomation are opting to break into the Home Automation world. Not surprising considering how Apple has made an empire out of integrating its devices through WiFi channels.  Apple’s Unix-Based Operating System, OS X has been the driving force behind Savant Smart Systems.  Savant Smart Systems is in the business of developing and manufacturing software and hardware solutions for the connected home.

Apple’s venturing into a world which provides a service that allows you as the consumer to have full control over your home energy systems as well as appliances.  With the Help of Apple and Cyber Technologies New York City HomeAutomation and Westchester Home Automation, Audio, Lighting, telephony and energy management will be at your fingertips. In keeping with Home Automation Apple is also expected to bring to market an Apple TV Hardware in the near future that will also link into the Home Automation scheme.

Now, Many may be wondering, why is this important?  Well like most businesses one needs to keep up with its competition in order to stay successful.  The home Automation industry has become a huge market for Microsoft and Google.  Google who has bought “Nest” has long been associated with the “Internet of Things”.  Apple’s vision in this industry is very important for the simple fact that it has a huge well funded background that can typically break into any market it chooses.  Apple has made billions off of its other ideas, if they once again are able to wave that magic wand of theirs they are looking at the involvement in a market that can generate them billions of dollars.

If Apple is able to improve upon their Intelligent Personal Assistant and Knowledge Navigator “SIRI” and then integrate her/him into Home automation we’d be in for a treat! We would soon be embarking into uncharted territories where once believed science fiction movies like “2001 a Space Odyssey” would become a reality, hopefully without the psychotic AI.

Body Cameras Don’t Come Off Well with Police Officers

New York City CCTV

There is a lot of “he said, she said” when it comes to police stops, it’s for this reason that a new product is being introduced into the field.  With record setting complaints against the police, precincts are looking for new and better ways to manage their police force.  With new advancement in technology and services like New York City CCTV Systems, personal recording devices are being developed.

Thank Goodness for Progress

These advancements have led to the development of equipment small enough to clip unto any officers uniform.  The miniaturized video cameras can be attached to a collar, cap, shirt or side of an officer’s glasses.  These recording devices come equipped with digital audio recording devices as well.  Through these sophisticated equipment we are able to clearly record every aspect of the interaction between officer and civilian.

Advancement of powering options have also led to High-capacity battery packs that are light in weight and can last for an extended shift.  One of the best features is the automatic upload feature.  This means no way of tampering with the evidence.  Videos are automatically uploaded to a central server which is controlled by an external entity.   Think of this as a digital evidence locker.

Taste of Their Own Medicine

With all the surveillance it’s no wonder that some cops are against the implementation of these cameras.  Mr. William A. Farrar, the police chief in Rialto, California has had a tough time selling the idea to his patrol officers.  Some of the older officers initially were questioning why “big brother should see everything they do”.  Mr. Farrar went on to remind them that civilians record officers all the time, not always representing both sides of the story.  In essence this would be a help to police showing exactly what has happened.  After all if you are doing an honest job there is nothing to worry about.

You Don’t Say?

For a year now every week, half of the officers from Rialtos police have been randomly selected to wear these cameras.  The officers wearing the cameras are expected to activate them whenever they have an interaction with a civilian.  The cameras contain a great feature, it’s “pre-event video buffer” continuously records and holds the most recent 30 seconds of video when the camera is off.  This captures the initial reason for activating the camera ensuring nothing is missed of the interaction.
The results from the first 12 months have been nothing short than amazing.  In a short period of time drastic results were being seen.  With only 50 percent of the uniformed patrol officers wearing cameras the department had a whopping 88 percent decline in complaints filed against them.  They also saw a decline in force being used in 60 percent of cases.  This is a no brainer.  Being constantly watched has brought some ethics to these police officers.  It has made them aware that their action may have consequences.  If anything else it has at least brought them off their power trip.

Let’s Hope For the Best

The usage is still in its beta stage but it seems that this is a technology that is here to stay.  With time we will see more police department incorporate this into its daily arsenal.  Thanks to companies like Cyber Technology and their New York City CCTVSystems and New York CCTV Systems services more and more surveillance systems are being implemented, capturing otherwise lost evidence.

5 Garage Improvement Tips You Need To Know

The interior of your garage tends to become a cluttered space that holds just about everything you don’t want to store in your home. To keep these spaces clean and functionable there are a few tips and tricks you can use. When it comes to Germantown Garage Doors, Clermont Garage Doors and Carmel Garage Doors, keeping these spaces clear can be difficult and time consuming, particularly when you don’t want to throw things away.
Germantown Garage Doors, Clermont Garage Doors and Carmel Garage Doors
1) Utilize the ceiling space-  Garage ceilings are often unused and unappreciated. This space differs from the space in your home because the interior of your garage is designed for storage whereas the interior of your home is designed for living. Thus, keeping things on the ceiling in your garage is an acceptable practice. Also, using the vertical plane will leave more room to park your car.

2)Take everything out of your garage- Taking everything out of your garage is a great reorganization tactic that will help provide you with a feel for how much space you actually have and what you want to do with it.

      3) Figure out what to do with all the stuff- Once you have emptied your garage of all the clutter it is time to make some decisions. Think about when the last time you used a specific item was, and when you will use it again. Make decisions based on what you love, what you need and whether or not you can donate something. This will help get rid of all the clutter and without a doubt will be satisfying to see some of the items you have held on to for a long time go away for good.

      4) Use labels- When things are labeled they are easy to find and they suddenly have a purpose and a place. Using drawers or bins to classify items keeps them from getting scattered or misplaced. It will no doubt make your life easier down the road.

      5) Use wall hooks- Similar to using the ceiling space, add hooks to unused wall spaces to hang bicycles,      kayaks, fishing rods and other outdoor gear. This will not only serve a functional purpose by giving these belongings a specific place, but it will also add a nice design feature.
Germantown Garage Doors, Clermont Garage Doors and Carmel Garage Doors

Germantown Garage Doors, Clermont Garage Doors and CarmelGarage Doors can easily be revitalized by implementing these five easy tips.  Remember to always be safe when working on your garage and don’t be afraid to get creative. If you would like to speak with an expert about garage door repairs, installations and more, check out Hudson Valley Overhead Doors and Operators. They are top rated and offer a free consultation.

New York City CCTV Systems: Will they follow suit with Nottingham?

Acccording to a Nottingham Post article, Nottingham taxicabs are set to be equipped with CCTV systems. This raises the questions of will we see New York City CCTV systems turn up in the Big Apple’s cabs, and if so…When?

“Taxis are to be fitted with CCTV in a bid to make journeys safer. The pilot scheme, costing nearly £100,000, will be launched in Nottingham – with 100 cabs taking part. The idea is to make taxi journeys safer for drivers and passengers. Jamil Ahmed, chairman of The Nottingham Licensed Taxi Owners and Drivers Association, said he would like to see the initiative rolled out to the 411 Hackney cabs in the city.”

New York CCTV systems have been showing up in more and more places including restaurants, hotels, bus stops etc. It goes without saying that as a culture we are constantly being surveilled. Commercial properties have enlisted the help of CCTV systems for years, and it is now more recently that residential properties have caught on as well. The systems are set to protect us but how far is too far?
New York CCTV Systems

In a taxi cab, you are in a private environment paying for a service. One party gives another party a payment and in return they receive a service, in this instance it is transportation. Is there a need to watch those who are paying for this service? Most people do not expect to be watched while in the back of a taxi and for that reason many would say it is a violation of privacy. Others of course would argue, if you are not doing anything wrong, who cares if you are being watched?
The Nottingham taxi drivers are implementing this system already and it may only be a matter of months before we start seeing it in more cities across the UK or the east coast of the USA. For those who are looking to install a system at a commercial property, residential property, or any other entity, it is a good idea to check with a local company with experience in your area. New York CCTV Systems and inside the city New York City CCTV systems from Cyber Technologies has the design team and technicians available to make sure you are covered. With more than ten years of experience, they are equipped to help you keep eyes out.

Home Improvement Trends to Keep an Eye On:

And How They Can Help You

Though it can be tough to think about this early in the year, Spring is just around the corner. March comes in like a lion and goes out like lamb, meaning that soon enough the snow will be gone and the birds will be chirping again. With the onset of Spring comes everybody’s favorite activity…spring cleaning!
According to the Graham Leader of Graham, Texas there are three major trends to this year’s spring home cleaning and improvements.

“Top 2014  Home Improvement trends:
  1.  Energy management and environmental impact
  2.  Streamlining the kitchen and cooking processes
  3.  Safety and security of a property”

Let’s break these down for a minute. Number three top home improvement for 2014 is to increase the safety and security of your property. Doing this through traditional means could help, but integrating your security system is a far more efficient way to monitor your property. By integrating your security system you can essentially bring your 21st century home to where it needs to be, a "Smarthome".

The days of a lock for security and camera safety are over. Make it easy on yourself and tough on the bad guys. Receive text messages or iMessages when something is fishy at your property. Or trigger the alarm to automatically disarm when you know the kids are coming home. Let the technology of 2014 protect what is the most important to you. We live in an age where you don’t have to wonder whether the dog set off the alarm or if there is a real threat. You can instantly know what is happening and do it remotely from your Smartphone or tablet with an integrated security system. To adequately protect yourself, family, and friends, integrate the safety and security systems of your property.

The top home improvement trend of 2014 is actually rather predictable. Managing your energy usage and the environmental impact of your home is important for a number of reasons. What most are failing to realize is that energy management does not have to be difficult. When you integrate your energy systems you can monitor and control the usage to your preferences. You can cross two of the top three home improvements off your list with one fell swoop by simply integrating the systems of your home.

Controlling for environmental impact is more important than ever in the age of go green. Not only does managing your energy help the environment, but it also saves you money. With an integrated residential system you can control for the hours your lights are on/off and also for a dimming function or more. Do this all remotely from your handheld or laptop. Use less wattage, spend less money and save the environment while you do it. A no brainer. With an integrated lighting system and lighting control you will strive through 2014 home improvements with ease.
